абе напомпан 6-так е много добре, но има и по-хубави неща... напомпан 8-мак е още по-добре... на горе не съм сигурен че си струва.

"Alfa Romeo has a reputation for building brilliant engines, combining Italian passion and a sonorous soundtrack in vehicles that the average person can afford. However, in 2005, Alfa Romeo stopped building its own V6 engines and decided to use a unit supplied by General Motors. The engines still used an Alfa Romeo cylinder head and induction system but the heritage of the previous V6 engines no longer remained and to the purists the GM-sourced mills didn’t have the Alfa magic.

For a while it was thought that Alfa Romeo was developing a pair of new V6 engines displacing 3.0 and 3.5L, respectively, which would output more than 100hp (74kW) per liter. Unfortunately, plans for the new V6 engines were shelved with the introduction of tougher carbon-dioxide emissions standards in Europe.

All is not lost, however, as rumor has it Alfa Romeo is still developing new V6 engines, but the latest design is for smaller displacement and forced-induction units. The new engines are allegedly being designed by former Ferrari engine boss Paolo Martinelli. Expected to displace between 2.7 and 3.3L, the new engines will output up to 350hp (261kW) in naturally aspirated form and up to 500hp (373kW) in turbocharged form.

There’s yet to be any official word from Alfa Romeo in regards to the rumored V6 engine project but the idea of using smaller capacity forced-induction engines to save fuel is nothing new. Mercedes-Benz confirmed that its future powertrain lineup will feature full turbocharged engines and a number of other carmakers are planning to follow suit."

ВМ сигурно пак имат нещо в предвид,но явно още не е за пред хората... някакъв си шестак дизел с четири разпределителни вала и верижен ангренаж..."нищо особено"

Сега не ми се рови - щото четох по чужди сайтове и за нови дизели за заместника на 166 . Споменаваха някакви 3 литрови шестаци (265 - 300) коня. Както се спрягаха и слухове за възможен 4.0 литров осмак дизел .

Абе те бензиновите шестаци да направят и пара да имаме - ше караме на бенз.

The Alfa Romeo 169 will to arrive in 2008. It will share the Maserati Quattroporte’s platform. The 169 comes to replace the 166, a car that had never been a strong seller. The new Alfa Romeo will compete with models like Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and future 2009 Porsche Panamera. The 169 will be one of the models that will be sold in USA on Alfa Romeo’s return.
The 169 will be the first rear-wheel drive Alfa in nearly two decades. Based on the Quattroporte platform, the 169 will feature a longitudinal engine, RWD and a transaxle gearbox that will help the weight-distribution. This will make from the 169 a very good alternative to Mercedes, BMW and Lexus luxury sedans.

The 169 will be designed at Alfa Romeo Styling Center. Comparing to the Quattroporte which has a length of 5.052 mm, the Alfa 169 will be shorter having the following dimensions: length - 4.950 mm, width - 1.900 mm and height - 1.400 mm.



Later two more powerful engines will be added: a 4.0 liter V8 diesel engine with an output of 380 hp and 590 lbs-ft and the GTA 5.0 liter V8 with an output of 530 hp at 7000 rpm and 442 lbs-ft.

Designed by the Alfa Romeo Styling Centre, the 169 will have number of distinctive features that will highlight its strong personality and make it immediately recognizable, in the best Alfa tradition. Starting from the front, which will be strong and essential, like all the models from the Alfa Romeo family and also the line of the entire 169 will give the impression of an aggressive car with elegant forms.

We also believe that the 169 will be a Maserati Quattroporte featuring elements of design from the 8C Competizione. The 169 will have the same rear lights as the 8C Competizione.

When will go on sale the 169 will have a prince on the range of $60.000 - $65000.
